Focus | Program management for the analysis and development of the new customs systems
The program “UCC – Union Customs Code” is one of the largest transformation projects in the public sector. It involves the analysis and agile development of new customs systems based on the specifications of the European Commission. It is divided into three subgroups, each consisting of approximately 20 projects or technical matrix topics. In addition to the tender and procurement of standard solutions, the program also encompasses in-house development and integration into the existing systems that are operated in the federal data center.
One of the biggest challenges is establishing an agile corporate culture and transitioning from traditional project management to more adaptable process models. The human factor is a crucial aspect in the successful and sustainable implementation of projects. The focus is on supporting the project employees affected, which necessitates a high level of social skills grounded in extensive management experience. The use of a wide range of processing tools also necessitates the implementation of Power BI dashboards to ensure program control and reliable reporting.
